Mission 1 Take Personal Responsibility For Your Success

Your first mission on the road to success is to learn to take personal responsibility. Are you ready to follow your dreams? Because if you are, you have to realize that everything you have in your life is the result of the decisions you have made up to this point. Your success is not up to your husband or wife, -your mom or dad; it’s not up to your boss. Your success isn’t based upon how good or bad the economy is, your success is up to one person and one person only -- YOU!. You’re in the driver’s seat. You’re the one who determines the direction you will travel -and how fast you’ll get there. Get started by having one major learning experience every quarter. Everything in life gets better when you get better and nothing gets better until you do.

The Power of Perspective

Apr 16, 2012 3:49:36 PM

I’ve seen the stage production of The Phantom of the Opera several times in my life. I was fortunate each time to sit within the first few rows. The music and the staging were fantastic, truly a great experience that I wanted to share with my children. Recently I purchased tickets for the whole family to Phantom in Las Vegas. Since I was buying, I was a little more conservative and I bought seats in the upper mezzanine. It was surprising to me just how different the perspective was from the mezzanine. I was disappointed. The production was still great, but sitting so far away really changed the experience for all of us. It reminded my how important perspective is. To an ant a rock looks like a mountain, to man it looks like a rock, and they are both correct. It’s all a matter of perspective. When you ask a person their opinion, you’re getting their perspective. This is an important fact to realize as we remember that personal skills are the key to our success in life and business. George Washington Carver said; “How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.” Be patient with others and try to see things through their eyes, and I believe that if you truly make the effort to see things from their point of view, the majority of your conflicts will disappear.
